Ford is combining computer aided engineering (CAE) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) technologies to predict drivability of new
powertrains under controlled testing conditions within dynomomiter test cells at their Product Engineering Center in Livonia, MI.
Ford is using Concurrent's SimWB on iHawk product as the compute element to solve the complex chassis dynamics as represented
by a 150+ DOF SIMPACK model. Only because of SimWB's ability to fully utilize the available CPU cores can such a model be
executed in real-time.
